Magento platform rebuild for an established natural products business

Inkavital is a German natural products business specialising in maca powder, maca capsules, and related superfoods. Malisa had been selling online since 2003. By 2012, the existing system was showing its age — the design no longer reflected the brand she had built, and the functionality had not kept pace with what modern ecommerce expected.

open-ecommerce.org was engaged to build a new Magento store from the ground up — replacing the legacy platform with a modern, self-manageable ecommerce site. This was the first of two projects with Malisa; the UK store followed in 2014.

What We Built

The project replaced Inkavital's legacy system with a full Magento ecommerce platform:

• Responsive Magento store with a fresh theme suited to a natural products brand — clean, professional, designed to present maca and superfood products clearly
• Full product catalogue covering Inkavital's range of maca powder, maca capsules, and natural products — with improved navigation and product page structure
• German market configuration: Euro pricing, German payment methods, appropriate shipping, and language settings throughout
• Improved admin functionality drawing on Malisa's years of experience: product filtering, promotional tools, and full control over pricing, stock, and content
• CMS training covering product management, order processing, and site content
