Santa Eva — Magento Handmade Shop, Barcelona
A focused Magento shop for handmade products
Santa Eva grew from a shared project between Eva and Guille — two Barcelona-based graphic designers and photographers who wanted to take their handmade knitting products to market online. The brief was straightforward: a clean, robust Magento ecommerce store that matched their design sensibility and could be managed independently, built to a scope that made sense for an independent maker starting out.
Rather than a fully bespoke design process, we focused development on a clean Magento installation and well-structured catalogue, while Eva and Guille provided all the photography and illustrations themselves — assets that were already excellent given their professional backgrounds.
What We Built
The project delivered a complete Magento store adapted to the Santa Eva brand and the nature of handmade products:
- Responsive Magento theme built to a clean, user-friendly interface aligned with Eva and Guille's design aesthetic — simple navigation, clear product presentation, and a checkout that worked on both desktop and mobile
- Product catalogue structured for handmade knitting items — with the flexibility to present limited-edition and one-off pieces clearly alongside regular catalogue products
- Client photography integration — Eva and Guille provided all product photography and illustrations. We focused on ensuring the theme showed their images to best advantage
- Spanish and international configuration appropriate for a Barcelona-based business selling online
- CMS training covering product management, category updates, and order processing
Frequently Asked Questions
- Can Magento work for a small handmade products business?
Yes. We've built Magento stores for independent makers and small retailers. The focus is on clean product management and a straightforward checkout — not on adding complexity that isn't needed.
- How do you keep the cost of a Magento build manageable?
Scope matters most. A clear brief, client-supplied content (photography, copy), and a focused catalogue all reduce development time. We worked with Santa Eva on exactly this basis — Eva and Guille provided all photography and illustrations themselves.
- Can I manage the store myself after launch?
Yes. CMS training is included so clients can add products, update content, and manage orders independently from day one.
